My name is Benjamin Theodor Donath.

I am a media designer, cameraman and photographer living in Cologne, Germany.

I also play the bass in a Death Metal band called Neaera.

Over the last twenty years or so I have been lucky enough to do a decent amount of travel through both work and music. Ever since the formation of Neaera in 2003 we were able to constantly expand our perimeter. What started as a local band over time grew into one of German Metalcore’s standard bearers, enabling us to tour a plethora of European countries.

The desire for personal change prompted me to take up training for the job as Media Designer for Picture and Sound at 24 25 TV & Medienproduktion in 2013. The job allowed me to travel even more frequently and even farther away. The list of countries I have visited includes Guatemala, the Faroe Islands, Japan, Iceland, Usbekistan and Cuba, to name only a few, and I plan on adding many more.

I hope this doesn’t sound cheesy, but I truly feel everything and everyone is connected and that we should cherish what we share as humans. I hope my pictures can convey this sense of connection and the diversity I’ve been able to witness so far. If that’s the case than that’s really all I can ask for.

I am constantly learning, striving to get better at my craft and to stay curious for what’s out there. Thank you for your interest, I hope we’ll meet soon!
